12 Days of Christmas

I finally have a space to put my 12 days of Christmas collection. Here are a few pictures of it.

Here are a couple other pictures that add some color to the beige walls.

It is located near Watrous, Saskatchewan.

Making a move

We lived in the same house for thirty years.  Wow, didn't even think much about it until one day we decided to put our house up for sale.  We were told our house would sell quickly.  We started looking through all our stuff. This took time... about two months to look through everything in every cupboard and every box.  A lot of stuff was put out for recycling or garbage and also set aside for garage sale. Finally at the beginning of the third month our house sold.  Now we started again, looking through everything and more stuff was donated or sold or put out for the spring pick-up. We still had a lot of stuff. We started collecting boxes from local stores. The boxes seemed to take over our house and garage. Each week we had to get more boxes, never seemed to be enough.  Now the possession date was approaching, we only had a little over two weeks to get it all packed.  The day before the moving truck came we worked late into the evening to get it all done.  And there still didn't seem to be enough boxes.  Finally moving day came and it was carried out. It took three loads in the large truck and filled our new single garage completely... now it had to find a new place and I think we donated another few car loads to charity.  What a lot of stuff!

A large tree

When is a tree too big for your yard? Sometimes it's hard to decide. It's been there a long time and we get used to it being there. It gives shade on a hot day. If it's a spruce tree, it stays green all year, protecting us from cold north winds. We barbecued under that tree until one day we noticed a lot of sticky sap on our table and chairs. So the time came for the tree to come down.  Here's some photos:

Canada Day in Ottawa

This was an interesting day to be in Ottawa on Canada Day and to visit Parliament Hill.  We joined the multitude of other visitors to the Hill... and the Queen was there too.

Victoria Day Weekend 2010

Last weekend we had some pretty warm days, the warmest being May 18 at +31. This weekend, the Victoria Day weekend.. it began on Friday with some very much needed rain. It rained all day, making it very wet. Then Sat. morning we woke up to temperatures close to the zero mark and white roofs and snow on the ground. Such very changeable weather indeed!

Nice sunset

We noticed one day that the facia had come loose.
Maybe the wind blew it off.

Grand Sirenis Mayan Beach

Well, I never thought we'd be at another all-inclusive so soon, but that happened last week. We had other plans made to travel to London, but the volcano in Iceland changed that. All flights to London and Frankfurt were cancelled for several days. We were therefore unable to get to our tour of England and Scotland. That will have to wait for another time. In the meantime, never having been in Mexico before, it was really nice to experience at least the Cancun side.

Less snow

Another week closer to Spring in Alberta and more snow has disappeared.
